Zack Snyder Says 'Sucker Punch' Is 'Not Going To Be In 3-D'

Vanessa Hudgens thinks "Sucker Punch" would be "badass" in 3-D, and director Zack Snyder may agree with her, but he's now adamant that a 3-D release for the film just isn't going to happen.

"It's not going to be in 3-D," Snyder told MTV News. "I wanted it to be in 3-D, and we talked a lot about it, and then we looked at a lot of tests. We looked at a lot of potential vendors that could turn the movie into 3-D, and in the end I just felt like it wasn't conceived in 3-D like "Guardians" — because I have made a movie, "Legend of the Guardians," which is conceived in 3-D, and it's cool in 3-D."

Snyder would rather not do 3-D at all than covert an entirely 2-D film to the format, though he might go back and do things differently from the beginning if he had the chance.

"Maybe the problem was because I'd been working on that for two years, by the time now we rolled around and made it — early on we were like, 'Oh we can just do a conversion. It's no big deal,' and now I'm broken for 3-D," he explained. "It's like I've been loved by 3-D. It's like you can't go back."

SDCC: Did 'Let Me In' Win Over Anti-Remake Critics?

Every time director Matt Reeves has talked publicly about his English-language remake of Tomas Alfredson's cult vampire flick Let the Right One In, he's had to make a case for relevance based on sheer enthusiasm alone. But on Saturday at Comic-Con, Reeves finally had real proof to show skeptical fans of the original -- two clips that revealed just how much, in a good way, his film differs from the original.

Let Me In is released worldwide in October, and some of what Reeves had to show wasn't 100 percent complete -- though I challenge anyone to name anything in the two Comic-Con exclusive clips that didn't look, well, kind of amazing.

SDCC: 'Resident Evil 4' -- Better Than Being Stabbed In The Face

The panel for Resident Evil: Afterlife was so painful that the guy who got stabbed in the eye immediately afterward was probably feeling relief more than anything else (although the unimaginable agony coming from the new hole in his face was probably a close second. also, the guy really should have kept his 3-D glasses on. I mean, the knife lunging at him would have looked so cool). Okay, and now that I've fulfilled my requisite duty of sarcastically mentioning the Great Comic-Con Stabbing of 2010, I must apologize (and express my sympathies) to everyone involved, and clumsily segue to the the Resident Evil panel itself, which indelibly reaffirmed my belief that no one involved in the making of these films has any understanding as to what makes the videogames so effective.

Methinks I'm particularly bummed by this because the videogames - especially the first two installments - provide such rich source material for a mysterious and deeply terrifying series of cold and calculated horror films. But the chance for the likes of Ti West to steer this franchise has come and gone, and though I must accept that Paul W.S. Anderson's films have found a rather large audience, I can't help but be baffled as to why. Having said that - and with all due respect to those who enjoy these flicks - here are my pure, unadulterated thoughts from the panel that broke Comic-con.

Did Paris Hilton get a boob job?

Paris Hilton's curvier-than-usual figure has sparked speculation that she has got a boob job. The House of Wax star was recently spotted topless jet skiing, and sunbathing topless and hanging with her friends on a yacht on an Italian holiday, reports News of the World.

The heiress and her friends were off the coast of the Italian island of Sardinia.

Hilton has never admitted to a boob job in the past.

A nostalgic Lara walks ramp for Rina Dhaka

New Delhi, July 25 – Model-turned actress Lara Dutta says it was a nostalgic feeling when she walked the ramp for designer Rina Dhaka at the ongoing Pearls Infrastructure Delhi Couture Week.

‘I had walked the ramp for Rina in 1998, it was then I had started modelling. So after that I managed to walk for her this time and it was very nostalgic indeed,’ Lara told reporters here after the show Sunday.

‘I am glad to be here for the first couture week and thanks a ton Delhi people for having me here in the capital,’ she added.

This former Miss Universe, who is now more active in movies, says walking down the ramp is now a lot more tougher than compared to her modelling days. Contrary to her claim, dressed in a black crystallised chic blouse and train lehenga, the actress flaunted her perfect figure and walked down the ramp with oodles of confidence.

‘Walking the ramp as a celebrity is very tough because that time you are the face of the designer so you have to be very confidant and poised and make sure every move you make is fine. You can’t go wrong here so it is a bit tougher, but it is always fun,’ said Lara.

‘Also walking down the ramp in front of a live audience is also fun as you know that there won’t be any re-takes,’ she added.

Inspired by cobwebs, Dhaka’s collection had a lot of slim-line silhouettes, interesting saris and corsets paired with lehengas.

A lot of lace, brocade, hand embroidery and various textures were used on the saris and dresses. Also, a lot of cut work and pearl work dominated the range that was in the hues of metallic black, neutral beige and bright reds.

Trisha to star opposite Prateik Babbar

Age difference doesn't bother south Indian actress Trisha Krishnan who entered Bollywood with Khatta Meetha opposite 43-year-old Akshay Kumar and is currently shooting a Tamil film opposite 55-plus Kamal Haasan. But for her second Hindi film, she will be seen with 24-year-old Prateik Babbar.

"The second Hindi film is a love story with just me and the guy in central roles. It's a subject that can't go wrong. I've already done the Tamil version of this film 'Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya'. Now the same director, Gautham Menon, is remaking it in Hindi with Prateik and me," Trisha, 27, said.

"I think we should be kick-starting it in August. I am excited because unlike 'Khatta Meetha', where I don't have a central part, this one has a central role for me."

"It was important for me to line up a second Hindi film before the first was released," she said.

Speaking excitedly from Europe, where she is shooting with Kamal Haasan, Trisha said: "I've been away from home for almost 40 days. Though I've my mom with me I do miss home. But the shooting with Kamal sir and Maddy (Madhavan) is great fun."

Trisha confesses she had her lines in Hindi dubbed in her first film. When you tell her that Akshay said she spoke Hindi well, Trisha laughs it off.

"Did he say that? I must thank him. The truth is I was a bit nervous about doing my own lines in Hindi. I've done so many Telugu films. But I don't know the language at all. I know the grammar in Hindi but I can barely manage to speak it."

"In Chennai no one talks in Hindi. I was a little worried about my Hindi since my character in 'Khatta Meetha' is from a fluent Hindi-speaking belt. So both Priyan and I decided I wouldn't dub my own lines. But it's not a problem. I know I'll soon master it. It's simpler than the south Indian languages," the actress said.

Trisha had got Hindi film offers earlier but didn't jump on to the Bollywood bandwagon until Priyadarshan's offer came along.

"I was so busy doing Tamil and Telugu films that I didn't get time to consider Hindi films although offers did come. Also I wanted to do something that would give me a wide audience. I chose Priyadarshan and Akshay Kumar... Their combination always works."

Trisha is candid to admit she didn't have that much to do in "Khatta Meetha".

"It isn't a heroine-centric role. But I felt it would give me visibility. Look, I may be known in the south. But in Bollywood no one knows me... not yet. When I started in the south I did smaller parts with big heroes. That always worked for me. One needs to be a part of hit films specially at the start," she reasoned.

Priyadarshan is Trisha's mentor. "He launched me in the south seven years ago. He had promised he'd launch me in the right vehicle. In five minutes I knew I wanted to do 'Khatta Meetha'. I want to first make sure I establish myself in Hindi before I do more experimental roles. This is the trend I followed in the south as well."

On working with Akshay, she said: "In the 'Khatta Meetha' unit Akshay was the only person I didn't know. And he wasn't just my co-star, he was also my producer. He was really sweet. Priyan and Akshay are by now like family to one another. They made sure I was comfortable. This was one of the most professional units I've worked with."

Trisha is open to shifting base to Mumbai. "It would depend on the offers. I've always had relatives in Mumbai. I've also done a lot of ads in Mumbai. Though my family won't move out of Chennai, I am hardly in one city any way," she said.

Horror fan Mugdha in supernatural thriller

Actress Mugdha Godse has had an unexplained, eerie experience in the past, but that hasn't stopped her from acting in a supernatural thriller. And she says she loves watching horror movies alone at home. Mugdha reveals that during her modelling days she had a scary experience - she heard a
non-existent person talking on the mobile phone in her hotel room!

"Once I actually experienced something very scary. I was modelling those days and I checked into a room with another girl in Frankfurt. We were very tired so we switched off the lights and were in our beds by 10 p.m. But till 2.30 at night I could hear the other girl talking on the phone.

"Finally I woke up and told her to stop talking because I couldn't sleep. But to my horror, she told me that she wanted to tell me the same thing and that her phone had been kept aside for charging," Mugdha told IANS in an interview.

"We got really scared and tried to put on the lights but the lights were not coming on. Then we felt something eerie around. We immediately called the hotel reception and asked for a room change. It's only when we reached the other room that we heaved a sigh of relief," she said.

But the 24-year-old is not one to get completely spooked. She still loves to watch horror films all alone.

"I like to psych myself out. Sometimes when I'm alone at home, I order horror film DVDS, put off the lights and then watch it. I like doing that because it gives me a kick," the actress said.

Mugdha, who has done films like Fashion, All The Best and Jail, is now all set to scare audiences in supernatural thriller Help.

"It's a very interesting character. Also, I am a fan of horror films and I watch one horror film every week... I have a big collection. So I thought if I am getting an opportunity to act in one, then why not?"

"In the film, I play the wife of a filmmaker who makes horror movies. One day they go to Mauritius and that's where unusual things start happening. The film is very international. It will have audiences on the edge of their seat," she claimed.

Jay-Z travels with personal toilet roll!

London, July 25 – Members of British Indie rock band Kasabian have revealed that rapper Jay-Z carries his own toilet roll when he travels.

The ‘99 Problems’ hitmaker stunned fellow performers at the ‘T in the Park’ Scottish music festival when they spotted him backstage with his own luxury items including personal toilet paper, reports contactmusic.com.

‘I noticed at T that he had a huge circus around him, his own toilet and his own toilet paper… That’s what we’re aiming for next. Our own loo roll,’ said Kasabian singer Tom Meighan.

Ryan Reynolds on 'Green Lantern's' CGI suit and the 'ultimate fanboy'

Ryan Reynolds is paying attention to what the "Green Lantern" fanboys and fangirls are saying on the forums, but he often finds a wealth of inspiration from the "ultimate fanboy" on the forthcoming film's set.

Speaking to HitFix at San Diego Comic-Con, the leading man said comic writer Geoff Johns has been on hand throughout production helping to form the one, two, three and more Green Lanterns to appear in the flick.

Johns has surely been a help, too, in construction the Green Lantern's all-CGI suit, for what Reynolds calls an "iconic" comic book character.

"[The suit] is a physical manifestation of the ring bearer's will and his biology," he says, admitting that while he may not have a costume to hang up in his closet at the end of the shoot, he's willing to sacrifice it for the fans.

Tom Cruise keen to do theatre

Superstar Tom Cruise has taken a fancy to theatre after his actress-wife Katie Holmes' successful stint on the stage.

Cruise, who has been immensely proud of Holmes' Broadway stint in Arthur Miller's "All My Sons" in 2008, is now considering treading the boards himself at the West End, reports imdb.com.

"I'd really like to do the stage at some point," he said.

Gerard Butler, Demi Moore treat fans with impromptu performance

Partygoers at a karaoke bar in Michigan were treated to an impromptu performance when Hollywood stars
Gerard Butler, Demi Moore and Michelle Monaghn took to the stage to sing.

The trio managed to take time off from their busy filming schedules for a night out and headed to the Rockstarz Karaoke Bar and Grill in Garden City where they stunned patrons with a performance of AC DC's classic hit "You Shook Me All Night Long", reports tmz.com.

Footage of the rendition has also surfaced online.

DiCaprio mobbed by fans in a loo

Hollywood superstar Leonardo DiCaprio was reportedly mobbed by fans in a toilet at a recent football game.

The actor was watching the football World Cup quarterfinal game between Brazil and Holland in South Africa when he slipped off to visit a public toilet, but had to call for help after his stall was raided by fans desperate to catch a glimpse of him doing his business, reports askmen.com.

"Leo, hoping he'd be incognito in dark sunglasses and a baseball cap, slipped into a stall in the stadium men's room. But all of a sudden, the stall began shaking and Leo freaked out when he heard blaring, buzzing vuvuzela soccer horns and people shouting his name. He thought the stall was about to cave in on him, and screamed for help," said a source.

Eventually the 35-year-old star's screams were heard by the security staff, who quickly set about clearing the public from the bathroom.

"Leo was finally able to unlock the door and escape, but he was white as a ghost, demanding to know what had happened. He was told that some fans saw through his disguise and spotted him entering the men's room. Word spread like wildfire, and males and females alike stampeded his stall, hoping to get a glimpse of him," said the source.

Avengers Cast Flocks to Comic-Con, With New Hulk!

After a long, crazy day at Comic-Con, weary fans got a surprise that made all the lines and bizarre incidents worth it: They met their Avengers!

At the tail end of the action-packed day (after a real-life blood bath over a seating dispute), Hall H patrons got their first looks at Chris Evans as Captain America and Chris Hemsworth as Thor, repping the two officially scheduled films on the Marvel Studios agenda.

Even if all they got was a glimpse of Evans in costume test footage as Captain America, fans screamed their support at the mere sight of the beloved WWII hero in red, white and blue. Director Joe Johnston, demurring that he'd only been in production for about a week, nevertheless played a rough cut of a scene in which Hugo Weaving (as Nazi baddie Red Skull, sans actual red skull) searches for a mysterious item that links Captain America to Marvel's other 2011 property, Thor.

Then, director Kenneth Branagh brought his cast on stage to premiere the first trailer for Thor, which depicts the son of Odin as he embarks on his path from disgraced demigod to earth-bound hero—with plenty of punching, kicking and smashing along the way. Branagh's Thor trailer also included lots of Natalie Portman (as Thor's love interest, Jane Foster, whom Portman described as a "frazzled, down to earth, grounded woman) and scenes hinting at his recruitment into the Avengers.

But wait, the panel wasn't over! Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige played a surprise clip for the capacity crowd featuring a familiar voice and the single, tantalizing image of the Avengers logo. As palpitations rippled through Hall H, the owner of that voice—Samuel Jackson—sauntered onstage, bringing the entire geek collective screaming to their feet.

Jackson, channeling his Marvel alter ego Nick Fury, introduced the members of the superhero team the Avengers, who'll get their own standalone film that brings worlds within the Marvel universe together onscreen for the first time.

Clark Gregg, Scarlett Johansson, Hemsworth, Evans and Robert Downey, Jr. joined Jackson on stage. Downey, a Comic-Con favorite, took the podium to crack a joke about the day's shocking Hall H incident ("Don't stab anyone before I'm done talking," he quipped) and to introduce three more members of the planned Avengers film, a comic book-blending movie that he deemed "more ambitious than Inception."

The entire population of Hall H squealed with excitement (yes, fanboys squeal!) as Downey introduced Academy Award nominee Jeremy Renner as Avengers archer Hawkeye. Then, confirming online whispers and Deadline's casting scoop, Mark Ruffalo joined everyone on stage as the new Bruce Banner/Hulk, officially replacing Ed Norton in the role.

Rounding out the Avengers mania, director Joss Whedon came out to thank fans for their support, and suddenly all of those hours spent waiting in lines wrapped around the convention center didn't seem quite so bad.

Comedy Beat-Down for Downey
Robert Downey, Jr. wasn't the first celeb to make a joke referencing the day's earlier fan incident and arrest. Surprise guest Harrison Ford arrived onstage for the Cowboys and Aliens panel in cuffs, escorted by two beefy guards. Ford's first-ever Comic-Con appearance earned a rousing standing ovation from the geek faithful…who cheered even more after seeing extensive footage from Jon Favreau's currently-filming Western sci-fi adventure.

Comic-Con Screening: ABC's 'No Ordinary Family'

As I was filing out of today’s Comic-Con screening of "No Ordinary Family," I passed by a mother with her young daughter in tow. The overly-excited girl was obviously impeding her mother’s progress through the sea of people, but she was far too immersed in her love of ABC’s new family-action mash-up show to notice. "That was sooo good!" she yelled, before planting her feet and demanding to know, "When does it start?" Their movement ground to a halt until a passerby was kind enough to remind them of the September 28 start date and the girl was content enough to continue making her way out of the ballroom.

My own enthusiasm for the pilot pales in comparison to the young girl’s, but I’m nonetheless impressed by any show that can have that much family appeal while starring two actors who just finished their turns on "Dexter" and "The Shield" (next up: James Gandolfini and Ian McShane resurrecting the TGIF family comedy!) The change of pace may just be an inspired idea, as clearly ABC is counting on the acting chops of their two leads, Julie Benz and Michael Chiklis, to keep parents tuned in as well.

When asked, during the panel’s Q&A session, if he was specifically looking for something lighter after starring as "The Shield’s dirty cop Vic Mackey, Chiklis responded that he was simply looking for something "new," and rather than being drawn in by the lightness of the project, he was genuinely intrigued by the idea of "family drama wrapped in the world of the super-hero genre."

Chiklis stars as family man and police sketch artist Jim Powell, who finds himself drifting apart from his brilliant, workaholic wife Stephanie, and their two teenaged children JJ and Daphne. As a remedy, he takes the family on a trip to Brazil, where a plane crash submerses them in some sort of enchanted lagoon and transforms the lot of them to a family of bona fide super heroes (or, perhaps more accurately, an "ordinary" family with super powers). The character’s transformation provides Chiklis (who becomes nearly invulnerable) with some more fantastical opportunities while on the job than his prior roles, prompting him to boast about tweeting while on set, "today at work I’m jumping off of a bridge. You?" Playing off one of the pilot’s most comedic moments, Chiklis finally declared that his favorite part of the show is getting to have a "lair with wifi!"

Julie Benz, who plays lightning-fast Stephanie, also stressed her desire to do something different after spending four seasons on "Dexter" playing Rita, a passive, battered woman unknowingly married to a serial killer. "I wanted to play the strongest female character I could find," says Benz, "the exact opposite of Rita." Benz certainly could have done worse than Stephanie, a world-renowned medical researcher and mother-of-two turned superhero.

The show itself comes across as a mishmash of "Heroes" and "Modern Family," with Chiklis and Benz speaking directly into the camera about their family life in documentary-style interludes. The set-up provides some funny lines (and one mildly humorous twist at the end), though it also seems a little out of place and derivative, and it’s something the show will have to work on in future episodes if it’s intended be a long-running format.

But it’s also clear that much of show’s mishmash of genres, styles and tones leaves some wrinkles that need to be ironed out. It often feels as if the show is trying to do too much, throwing in cutesy gags with cutesy narration and action sequences alongside heartfelt family moments, often within the same scene. At the beginning of the pilot, as the family’s plane plummets into the Brazilian rainforest, Benz’s Stephanie asks her texting-obsessed daughter, "who are you texting now?" To which Daphnie replies, "God!" Moments later she exclaims, "I’m going to die and I haven’t even done it yet!" And then we’re back to the "Modern Family" style interviews, before cutting to the death of a pilot and a shot of effervescent, power-endowing water. From the very beginning it’s all a bit much, and the result is a tonal strangeness that makes it difficult to truly enjoy the show’s individual elements. Hopefully "No Ordinary Family" can take note of its flaws and work the kinks out from its premise during its first season, because it’s put together a talented enough cast that you want to see it work.

The panel was rounded out by writers and creators Greg Berlanti and Jon Feldman, who cite the fact that every family "feels a little damaged," as their inspiration for "No Ordinary Family," which they intend as a sort of wish fulfillment. They explain that each of their characters acquires a superpower that is directly the inverse of their deficiency. Jim, who feels powerless in relation to his high-achieving wife, becomes nearly invincible, while Stephanie, unable to balance both her work and family life, gains the power of super speed. Self-involved Daphne, meanwhile, becomes a mind-reader, and JJ goes from being a kid with a learning disability to a "super genius."

Berlanti and Feldman, however, also dropped hints that they ultimately aim at something beyond mere wish fulfillment, suggesting that things become problematic when other super-powered characters emerge (including Josh Stewart as a "watcher"), and it becomes clear that the "intent of the powers isn’t a good thing."

But for the most part the panel was an opportunity for the two leads to show off their chemistry and display the good humor we can hopefully expect to see in the series. One of the more enjoyable moments was Michael Chiklis’ befuddled reaction to being informed (by a member of the crowd) that Michael C. Hall had referred to him as "Michael C. Hiklis" during the "Dexter" panel.

Of course, this is Comic-Con, and despite the crowd’s appreciative reaction (Jon Feldman missed his own introduction due to the volume of the applause for Chiklis), there were those who, first and foremost, wanted to know how much of the super-hero genre we can expect "No Ordinary Family" to indulge in. One fan asked Chiklis if we could expect to see him in a costume. But Chiklis laughed, and then dashed any hopes that the series would turn into a full-on live-action version of "The Incredibles," responding:

"You don’t want to see me in spandex."

Minutes after taking the stage with his future "Avengers'" co-stars in Hall H at the San Diego Comic-Con, "Thor" lead Chris Hemsworth was on the red carpet and in interviews with HitFix .

The 27-year-old Aussie described landing his role as god-on-earth as a "blessing" "to be part of the [Marvel] franchise."

"You come from constantly doubting yourself and figuring out ways into tricking yourself into thinking, 'No, no, no, I'm good at this,'" Hemsworth says about his feelings going into the project. But it was with sage cast and crew like director Kenneth Branagh and Academy Award winner Anthony Hopkins -- who plays Thor's father Odin in the myth, the comic book and film -- that he learned to feel like a more capable actor.

One of Hemsworth's favorite days of shooting encapsulated the true scale of talent with which he was working. It was for a scene where father and son argue, and Branagh stepped to Hopkins to whisper some directions.

"Then we started doing the take. And oh my God. It was emotional, anger... incredibly powerful. They called cut, and the whole set started applauding, some people were crying. And I was just sitting there going, 'That was amazing.' And 'I suck,'" he laughed. "I was thinking 'I'm in the ring with Hopkins, I’m holding my own,' until that moment."

(What did Branagh tell Hopkins? "Let him affect you.")

Near the beginning of production, there was a report that ran in a New York newspaper that claimed Hopkins wasn't enjoying the shoot and that there were tensions between he and Hemsworth and Branagh. The young actor shrugged the tabloid piece off as sheer rumor and completely false.
"Anthony said to me a number of times [that] he came on with one of the best directors he ever worked with. [Hopkins] kept saying, 'How fun is this?'. He brings the enthusiasm of someone on their first day on set. You gotta laugh at it. But there’s moments when I go home and its dark and I’m alone," he laughs, "and I think, 'The most talented nicest guy on the planet hates me.'"

What Hemsworth loved was taking the stage in Hall H with his future "Avengers" co-stars like Robert Downey, Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans and Samuel L. Jackson. Coming together with the ensemble apparently caught him off-guard.

"I didn't even know that was gonna happen until five minutes beforehand."

And, yes, Thor will walk across the Rainbow Bridge.

Enrique Iglesias Worried About Sharks – and Grooming – Before Water Skiing Naked

Seems like Enrique Iglesias is a man of his word.

When the sexy singer said he'd water ski naked if Spain won the World Cup, people were skeptical that he would actually deliver. Turns out, he has every intention to follow through.

"I need to get my Brazilian wax before I do it," he told PEOPLE at the 150th episode taping of So You Think You Can Dance. "Actually, I'm just waiting for a day off. A bet's a bet."

Added the singer: "I used to do it in high school, so what's the big deal?"

And while there have been rumors that the police will be patrolling for a fully-exposed Iglesias, he plans on warding them off by choosing a dark night to take the plunge in the Biscayne Bay.

"I never got arrested in high school for doing it," he said while also wondering, "Can you really get arrested for skiing naked?"

One other concern? "The water's hot in Miami," he said. "The only thing I'm worried about is if you fall at night, there's sharks in the water."

Malaria-stricken Cheryl Cole 'to take nurse to 'X Factor'

Cheryl Cole will have a specialist malaria nurse on hand when she goes back to work, it has emerged.

The 'X Factor' judge is still recuperating after being struck down with malaria.

And she has apparently hired the nurse to be on hand for at least a year.

The Girls Aloud beauty is desperate to return to the hit ITV1 show in time to pick her finalists for the 'judges' homes' stage of the competition.

She is also due to take up a similar role on the US version of the show next year.

And with a tour with Girls Aloud expected next year, there's no way she's going to risk her health.

So she's is said to have organized for the medic to accompany her wherever she goes.

"Cheryl knows she must have someone on hand at all times in case she is struck down by malaria again," the Daily Star quoted a source close to the star as saying.

"Once you've contracted the tropical disease it lives on in your red blood cells and it's not uncommon for it to return.

"Cheryl is fully aware of this and is determined that once she is fighting fit she will take all the precautions she needs.

"Having a nurse to watch over her 24-7 will ensure that if anything should happen she'll be aware of it immediately. She can't wait to get back to work but she realizes that she has to be sensible.

"There's talk of a Girls Aloud tour next year and the nurse will be like an extra member of the band," the source added.

"Orlando being the true gentleman he is, followed tradition by asking for Miranda's hand in marriage and we had no hesitation - they truly are a gorgeous couple, are very much in love and bring out the best in each other.

"We are thrilled to welcome Orlando into the Kerr family," she added.

George Clooney, Miley Cyrus declare war on social networking sites

Hollywood celebrities, including George Clooney
, Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Aniston and Drew Barrymore, have urged children not to use social networking sites
because of the dangers posed by paedophiles.

As Facebook registered its 500 millionth member, Miley said it posed a threat to children.

Her claim came after a girl of 13 was kidnapped by a 48-year-old man in California who lured her on a 'date' online.

"I'm urging kids, don't go on the Internet. It's not fun; it's dangerous," she said.

Clooney, 48, said he'd rather have his privates paraded around on TV than join one of the popular social-networking websites.

"I would rather have a prostate exam on live television by a guy with very cold hands than have a Facebook page," the Daily Express quoted him as saying.

"We were madly in love and he threw it all away to be with her just because she's famous.

"And he doesn't even like brunettes - especially with fake boobs and a rubbish fake tan.

"He's not the Mr Nice Guy Amy and her family think he is. In fact, he's calculating and knows exactly that her fame will raise his own profile.

"He's a fame-hungry cheat and I can never forgive him for doing this.

"But she should know that since I dumped him he has bombarded me with texts every day asking to see me.

"I know he will ditch her as soon as he has got the fame he wants.

"And I would put money on the fact that he will be coming back to me with his tail between his legs," she added.

'Khatta Meetha' actress Trisha to star opposite Prateik Babbar

South Indian actress Trisha Krishnan has entered Bollywood
following the trend of debuting with a leading man far older than her. In "Khatta Meetha", she stars opposite 43-year-old Akshay Kumar.

The age difference doesn't bother her. She is currently shooting a Tamil film opposite 55-plus Kamal Haasan. But for her second Hindi film, Trisha will be seen with 24-year-old Prateik Babbar.

Hollywood diva Zsa Zsa Gabor in critical condition, says husband

Hollywood actress Catherine Zeta-Jones feels she has starred with the best of Hollywood's leading men throughout her career.

The 93-year-old Hungarian-born actress underwent a 3.5-hour hip replacement surgery Monday, Xinhua reported.

The actress was able to speak a few words Saturday morning but still did not respond to questions. She received a blood transfusion Friday night, Frederic Prinz von Anhalt, Gabor's 9th husband, said.

For the last three days she had not been able to swallow food or liquids, but her doctors hoped she soon would be able to eat, Von Anhalt said.

However, the hospital has made no official comment on her conditions.

Gabor appeared frequently on television and in dozens of films in the 1950s and 1960s, including "Moulin Rouge" in 1952 and the Orson Welles 1958 classic "A Touch of Evil."

Rolling Stones gear up for final farewell

Rock legends the Rolling Stones are set to finally bow out after nearly 50 years in music with a giant farewell tour.

The foursome will have a combined age of 268 when the world tour kicks off next year.

Formed way back in 1962, the band will reach its half-century during the jaunt, which is set to last into 2012, reports thesun.co.uk.

Drummer Charlie Watts will celebrate his 70th birthday on the tour, and his bandmates - Ronnie Wood, 63, Keith Richards and Mick Jagger, both 66 - agreed the milestone make it the right moment to call it a day.

They are in talks with promoters Live Nation about the tour, and a source said: "They're likely to perform in stadiums. It's almost certainly the last full-scale world tour. The band realise that age is creeping up on them. They want to bow out on top of their game, and not short-change their fans."

They first did a farewell tour of Britain in 1971, then left the country to avoid high taxes. They gave up touring again for eight years from 1982 until the Steel Wheels tour in 1990.

The Stones have sold more than 200 million albums and recorded a string of classic hits including "Satisfaction", "Paint It Black" and "Brown Sugar".

The 40-year-old actress relished her favourite treat back home in Wales while actor hubby Michael Douglas
, 65, was toiling in the gym.

3D bubble bursts in Hollywood?

Hollywood's faith in the power of 3D movies to deliver a bright future of packed cinemas and spectacle-wearing audiences has been jolted by the box ofifce figures that show the high-tech format may already be floundering.

Seven months ago James Cameron's science fiction epic "Avatar" burst onto the screen in three dimensions, taking in $2.7 billion and becoming the highest grossing film of all time.

Studio executives in America compared the breakthrough to the development of first "talkies" almost a century ago, and fell over one another in the stampede to produce more such films.

But now, with the tally of major films released in the new format expected to reach 22 by the end of the year - with up to $7.50 extra being charged per ticket - there are signs that 3D may not after all be the panacea for falling ticket sales, telegraph.co.uk reports.

The proportion of cinema goers who opt to see new films in their 3D versions has fallen steadily over recent months, with more opting instead to watch them in the traditional and cheaper formats.

When "Avatar" came out in December, 71 percent of Americans who went to see it on the opening weekend - often the peak moment for a new release - opted for a cinema showing the 3D version.

In March, when the animated fantasy "How to Train Your Dragon" was released, 68 percent of the audience chose to see the film that way.

But by May that figure for "Shrek Forever After" was down to 61 percent. At the beginning of this month only 56 percent saw "The Last Airbender" in 3D, and a week later the proportion fell even lower, to 45 percent, for the newly-released animation "Despicable Me".

The figures have provoked an anxious debate in the industry, which had previously hatched plans to convert popular films on its backlist - everything from the "Star Wars" trilogy, to "Harry Potter", to the college pranks of Jackass - into the cinematic style du jour.

Studios are working on at least 24 brand new films in the expensive format for release next year. Now some fear that the "3D bubble" has already burst.

Critics say part of the problem may be the technology itself. While "Avatar" was specifically made in the new format, studios have hurriedly converted films that were originally made for two dimensions.

The process can cost up to $100,000 per minute of film but can be done in a matter of weeks, allowing for a quick release. However, a lot of the time it simply doesn't work and delivers murky pictures.

After seeing director M. Night Shyamalan's summer blockbuster "The Last Airbender", starring British actor Dev Patel, American film critic Roger Ebert said it "looked like it was filmed with a dirty sheet over the lens".

He said Hollywood's current infatuation with 3D was just an excuse to add surcharges to already expensive cinema tickets.

"Clash of the Titans", which was also converted and released in April, received similar criticism and was accused of actually putting audiences off the new visual effects.

Hollywood mogul Jeffrey Katzenberg, who was not involved with the film, called it a "cheeseball conversion" and suggested it was helping to "kill that goose that is delivering us golden eggs".

He said: "We're still at the beginning of this and not all 3D is equal, and consumers are beginning to realise this. There have been lesser 3D movies released and there's already been a backlash against it."

Christopher Nolan, the British-born director of "The Dark Knight" and "Inception", refused to use the new technology in his latest film because he found the dimness "extremely alienating".

But die-hard cheerleaders in Hollywood suggest the apparent migration of audiences back to traditional flat images is illusory.

While "Avatar" faced no competition when it came out there is now a flood of 3D releases and not enough screens equipped to show them. So far only about 5,000 screens in the US have been converted and 35,000 have not.

Studio insiders also point to the fact that only 28 percent of the cinemas showing "Clash of the Titans" on its opening weekend were 3D, yet accounted for 52 percent of its revenues.

They argue the proportion of tickets sold also depends on the subject matter of the film. The fantasy adventure "Alice In Wonderland", starring Johnny Depp, had the sixth biggest opening weekend of all time in March, grossing $116 million two thirds of which came from 3D screenings.

However, some of those who know the film industry best are convinced the latest trend will go the same way as the 3D fads of the 1950s and 1980s.

"3D is a waste of a perfectly good dimension and Hollywood's current crazy stampede toward it is suicidal," said Ebert. "It adds nothing essential to the movie-going experience. For some, it is an annoying distraction. For others, it creates nausea and headaches."
